Plot Summary:
This episode focuses on Puppet Foxy, an isolated marionette who spends his days feeling unfulfilled and trapped in a quiet, run-down diner in Britain. His solitary existence ends when Fredbear and Spring Bonnie join the establishment, introducing a new dynamic of structure and clashing personalities to the diner.
As the night turns into the early morning hours, the narrative takes a dark turn when an intruder enters the diner. The intruder is revealed to be Shadow Bonnie. He reveals that the animatronics are being used as part of a larger, secret plan for corporate sabotage. A tense and violent confrontation occurs, leading to the defeat and shutdown of Puppet Foxy. This is done by Grimm Foxy. In a final twist, the antagonist decides to impersonate the marionette to infiltrate the Afton and Emily network from within, with the ultimate goal of dismantling the company's future expansion.
Trivia:
The episode takes place in 1979, and introduces Puppet Foxy, Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, Shadow Bonnie and Grimm Foxy.
The name, "The First King" is taken from the The First King of England: Æthelstan and the Birth of a Kingdom book. It is a homage to how Puppet Foxy is the official first "of his kind".
This is the first FNAF Series to be set fully in the London and taking place before the introduction of Fredbear and Spring Bonnie.
Puppet Foxy is a stand in for the "Puppet/Marionette" due to Scroll of the Dragon wanting to give the character a different look and name.
